Alpine Academy : Intro to Multi-Pitch Climbing: Systems, Skills & Strategy Monday 9/14/26

September 14, 2026

Coordinator: Noel Tavan

Excursion Time: 3 hours (car-to-car)

Introduction to Multi-Pitch Climbing Workshop

Ready to take your climbing beyond single-pitch routes? Join us for an introduction to multi-pitch climbing designed for climbers who want to learn the fundamentals of climbing longer routes safely and efficiently. This interactive workshop will cover the basic systems, equipment, communication, and planning considerations used in multi-pitch climbing.

This is a continuation of the series of indoor workshops to teach all the skills needed to climb outside, starting with top rope basics and working up to alpine multi-pitch.

Participants should be comfortable building anchors, converting to rappel and rappelling. Participants should also be familiar and show proficiency with single pitch climbing.

Whether you're curious about getting started or looking to better understand how multi-pitch systems work, this Alpine Academy session will provide a solid foundation and help you identify areas for further practice and training.
