Alpine Academy (Lecture): Multi-Pitch - Belaying, Anchors, & TransitionsOctober 20, 2026 Coordinator: Michael Schoenheit Excursion Time: 3 hours (car-to-car) 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Location: TBD - NW or SW Portland This is a continuation of the series of workshops to teach all the skills needed to climb outside, starting with top rope basics and working up to alpine multi-pitch. Participants should be comfortable building anchors, converting to rappel and rappelling. Participants should also be familiar and show proficiency with single pitch climbing. | Required Equipment (each participant): Helmet, Harness, Belay/rappel device (tube-style)+autoblock+2 lockers, 1 locker, 2 non lockers, 2 prusiks or personal anchor system Optional Equipment (each participant): Snacks and drink of your choice, Assisted Braking Device (ABD), Sewn runners - 60cm, 120cm, 180cm, 240cm, Webbing, Cordlette, Carabiners, Quickdraws, Anything you think could be used to build an anchor (good to practice with the gear you'll be using) Packing List |
