Bill Geible, Linda Wilnow, Mike Gabe, and Lou Schwab made the trek up the mountain to Cloud Cap the first weekend in March. We joined Crag Rat host Scott Hukari and a group of ten from the Arbucle Ski club in Heppner. For once we found lots of snow. On Saturday, the weather was great, so most of the group headed out on their skis, carving turns on Cooper Spur or down through the trees. Those of us with snowshoes hiked up the Cooper Spur Ridge for fabulous views of the mountain and Eliot Glacier. But most of the time we relaxed in the cabin, ate, read, swapped yarns and then ate again. Bill Geible brought along his banjo for our entertainment. It was a great trip, as usual.
