After summiting Jefferson Sunday morning, our chosen route of descent--the East Face--proved to be more demanding than we had calculated, requiring ~15.5 hours to complete. We had a total of four double rope rappels, 1000's of steps to kick, and numerous unpredictable crevasse crossings in the dark. Shawn kept his nerve throughout this and together we were able to get down safely. We returned to our bivy tired and chilled, after just over 23 hours of climbing.
It's good to be home!
