Intro to Ice ClimbingSeptember 20 to September 21, 2026 Coordinator: Mikela Kruger Elevation Gain: 1500 feet Round-trip Distance: 1.5 miles Excursion Time: 8 hours (car-to-car) This is a two day clinic on Mt Hood. Plan on hiking for a few hours to get to the place where we will practice ice climbing. We will spend the night at the campground. First time ice climbers are welcome (will need to have other pre req). Topics covered include: Crampon Technique Glacial Navigation Anchor Building Two-tool Technique Hanging Belay Plenty of Climbing Practice Priority will go to SAC climb school graduates and active SAC members.
