Mt Rainier DC C2C

June 28 to June 29, 2025

Coordinator: Nicole Becker

Summit Altitude: 14411 feet
Elevation Gain: 9800 feet
Round-trip Distance: 16 miles

Are you a glutton for punishment? Do you enjoy long walks (climbs) in the mountains? Do you have a ridiculous amount of endurance and excellent physical fitness? Then a car-to-car (C2C) climb of the DC route is for you.*

The Disappointment Cleaver-Ingraham Glacier Direct (DC) route is the most popular summit route on Mount Rainier. Seventy five percent of all summit attempts are made via the DC. It is also one of the most guided routes in North America. During the summer, climbers can expect a well-marked route but that comes at the expense of busy weekends during periods of good weather.

If you want to join, please send me your climbing resume to nicolejbecker1.com. Priority will go to SAC members in good standing, organizers, assistants in excellent physical condition and prior rope travel experience.

Rope team, glacier travel experience and crevasse rescue knowledge is required.

*Logistics are subject to change. Attempting Rainier car-to-car (C2C) is an extremely difficult and challenging climb. Most DC climbs are done over a period of 2-3 days as opposed to 1 like this climb. "If you wouldn't be ready to climb Hood in <6hrs and don't consider a 20-mile run a 'fun run' then this climb is probably not for you" - Anonymous SAC Member
