Mt Hood - Leuthold's Couloir

Summit Altitude: 11250 feet
Elevation Gain: 5290 feet
Round-trip Distance: 12 miles
Excursion Time: 12 hours (car-to-car)

Plan will be to depart the parking lot at 11:00 pm (Daylight savings departure) in hopes of making Illumination saddle before 3 am. The colder this route is, the better our trip through the couloir.

Event is highly weather dependent. Any Avy or Weather instability will require an alternative activity.

Equipment
Team Equipment: 3 ropes, 3 Emergency Bivy sacks, 1 sleeping bag, , , ,
Required Equipment (each participant): Day pack (~30L-40L), Sunglasses, Sunscreen, Sun Hat/beanie, Warm gloves (and spares) - I like back-up mittens, Layering system, Mountaineering boots - crampons compatible, Crampons, Gaitors, Helmet, Water/Electrolyte (based on your preferences), Food, Headlamp (spare batteries), Toilet paper and blue bag / zip block, Personal Medical supplies, Ice axe, Second tool (preferably ice axe), harness, belay device, 2 locking carabiners, 1 pulley or microtraxion , 1 Ice Screw - medium to large, 1 Picket, 2 non-locking carabiners, Prusik cords x 2 - foot and waist, 1 Alpine draw, 1 double length runner + nonlocking biner (chest harness)
Optional Equipment (each participant): Trecking Poles, Hand Warmers,
