Alpine Academy : Clean & Convert Sport Climbs

Excursion Time: 1.5 hours (car-to-car)

The 2nd in a series of indoor workshops geared towards teaching all the skills needed to climb outside, starting with top rope basics and working up to alpine multi-pitch.

Week 2:

Sport climbing outdoors basics: gear and safety

Sport climbing anchors recap

Cleaning and converting sport anchors to safely get to the ground with all of your gear

The series of workshops will be held in the gym at my office. 630-8pm Wednesday evenings.

Maximum Allowed: 20
Required Equipment (each participant): Helmet, Harness, Belay/rappel device (tube-style), 1 locker, 2 non lockers, 2 prusiks or personal anchor system
Optional Equipment (each participant): Beer or your drink of choice, Sewn runners, Webbing, Cordlette, Carabiners, Quickdraws, Anything you think could be used to build an anchor (good to practice with the gear you'll be using)
