Carpool in high clearance 4WD trucks for the drive to the Broken Top Trailhead. Its a 30 min drive. First to Todd Lake then up the treacherous Forest Road 370 for 3 miles. 2 Miles up 370 we will take left onto FR 380 for 1/2 mile to Broken Top Trailhead.

The climb- Begin hiking on the Crater Ditch Trail around Moon Mountain to the west of Ball Butte. We will gain a false summit(@8,300') on Broken Tops south ridge in 2 miles. From there it is a .5 mile hike/scramble to the South Peak. Reverse direction to return. Check local mountain weather at Mt Bachelor- Current Conditions and NOAA forecast.

Hola Bill. I am volunteering for the PAF this weekend. If I am done Saturday and it is not too late. I will meet you all Sunday morning.

Damian answers:
Assuming it is ok for me to join y’all. :)

Peter answers:
Can we start a bit earlier? It would accommodate his schedule and he would most likely be able to make it. He and I will be in the area Saturday rambling around.

Mika says:
Hi all, sad news... I’ve gotta bail. I was super stoked to get a climb in with you all before winter hits but I won’t get out of work tonight until 10 and driving down at 3:30-4 in the morning sounds rough. Hope y’all have a safe and fun climb!
